    My name is Kenneth Patterson. I am a Product Design Marketing & Innovation graduate from Maynooth University, Ireland. I am 23 years old and I currently reside in San Francisco, CA. Living in the US in search of employment that relates to my college degree.

    I graduated in September 2013 with a BSc in Product Design. My ambition in life is to one day be a renowned designer working in the fields of lifestyle consumer products, fashion, footwear, sports equipment, branding and user interface design. As part of my degree I have acquired experience in UX/UI design, industrial design, graphic design, manufacturing and processing, marketing and sales, packaging, branding and advertising.

    My specialities include:

    • Highly creative individual with strong sketching abilities, conceptual ideation, and proficient CAD modelling to bring concepts to life.

    • Through my college and professional experience I have acquired a broad range of skills that will provide me with a strong starting point within any company.

    • Motivated, extremely driven, hard working and a great team player with solid interpersonal skills

    • Extremely versatile individual that can adapt to the most challenging situations and succeed.

    I am passionate about design as it is allows you to push the boundaries and improve modern day life as we know it.

      During my time at Three my role I would greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs. I would also describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers. When a client wished to make a purchase I was responsible for computing sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment. Maintenance of records related to sales was another aspect of my role I was responsible for. When called upon I would also open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.

      At the Zone I was in charge of briefing customers about track/paintball rules and safety regulations. I would monitor game operations to ensure that the rules are followed and that employees provide prompt and courteous service. As part of my role I had to organise race and grand prix events on the race track along with Kart and paintball gun maintenance and repair. During my time at the company I was also responsible for training in new members of staff.

      During my summer stay in Chicago I worked as a floor model in Hollister. My responsibilities at the company was to greet people who entered the store with the assigned store tagline. I was responsible for keeping my assigned room presentable, greeting customers, assisting customers when necessary by helping them find certain products, sizes, or colours. As a floor model I was also are responsible for helping customers get a fitting room and ringing customers up. As part of my job I would also have to wear the assigned seasonal clothing in order to promote the companies clothing line.

      While I worked for Futura Design I prepared sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, or artwork using drafting instruments, paints and brushes, or computer-aided design equipment. As part of projects I would have to confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products. From time to time I would have to modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends. I was also responsible for evaluating feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. My responsibilities also included designing graphic material for use as ornamentation, illustration, or advertising on manufactured materials and packaging or containers.

      At Silkweb Design I created designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. I had to determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type based on the design brief given to me by the Senior Designer. I would confer with clients to discuss and determine layout design of the projects that I was involved in. As part of my job I would develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet website templates using the Adobe Creative Suite.

      Mantra Nightclub
      Nov 2010 - Feb 2011 (3 months)
      As a Mantra club promoter I was in charge of adhering to the promotional policies, or needs of the nightclub in order to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, or services. I had to confer with the Head of PR and other promotional staff to discuss topics such as selection of advertising media, or product to be advertised. I was also in charge of meeting and greeting customers on event nights.
    • Labourer/Sales assistant
      Grange Patio and Paving
      Jun 2005 - Aug 2010 (5 years 2 months)
      I worked at Grange Patio and Paving every summer for five years. While at Grange Patio and Paving I would estimate material, time, and staffing requirements for a given project, based on work orders, job specifications, and experience. Quote job prices to customers. Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. I was also on-site where I would sweep, scrape, sand, or chip dirt and irregularities to clean base surfaces, correcting imperfections that may show through the patio and paving. I would review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly. I also worked in the office when requested upon where I would check inventory supplies and requisition or purchase additional items, as necessary.
