Thanks to what we can detect and perceive light? Eyes, our organs of vision. Some of artists draw eyes on paintings at last because after eyes are drawn the object on painting comes alive. Also they describe a character/person clearly, because quite a sight is enough to see and feel the mood of a person better.
Eye of Providence (or the all-seeing eye of God) obsession with triangles.  I'll break down the symbolism a bit further for you, the triangle is the magic sign for fire. The eye is the eye of Horus, the Hawk headed god, the Crowned and Conquering Child. He's the symbol for the New Aeon, the one we're in now. Which is characterized by growth, in consciousness and love, and self actualization.
