The PowerTower is a simple, smart system for storing and charging laptops and tablets. Each unit consists of a tower, power strip, and shelving. It is the simplest and most cost effective way to manage multiple mobile computerized devices.
The durable system provides a space-saving, open design. This allows for quick inventorying of the devices, while taking up a small footprint.
Each shelf is designed to house one easily located plug for its designated device.The back of the unit encloses space for device’s factory power supply.
The expandable and upgradeable abilities of the design make this unit work for multiple situations. It has a lockable feature that can be added to the unit for secure environments.
My contribution to this team project was the redesign of how the shelves attach to the tower. They can now be snapped in place and hold themselves while being secured with a carriage bolt and nut. This cut the assembly time by 20 minutes for the end user.
