Trip Ivey

Raised in northern Virginia, Trip followed his aptitude for mathematics and science to study civil engineering at Virginia Tech, however gradually realized Industrial Design was a better fit. The discipline affords the potential for him to follow the developing and evolving passions of life while satiating his avid visionary creativity.

Oscillating within the artist/engineer spectrum, Trip carries unique experiences, skills and viewpoints to add value to any interdisciplinary collaboration. He has grown to appreciate opportunities to explore the formal and physical potential of the most technologically advanced materials and processes available to create objects of unsurpassed intrinsic value.

After graduation, Trip and his wife, Jamie, spent four years living the “golden” lifestyle in southern California developing his professional design sensibilities with internationally renowned hospitality and yacht design companies. Trip has since launched Ivey Design Group in Richmond, VA and is looking forward to future collaborations to bring ideas to the next level through tailored professional design services.
