The coolest, of course, was that I got to make the mount for Luke’s mechanical hand. I actually got to hold this.

When I showed this picture to a friend, he pointed out that one could barely see the mount. I said that that was exactly the point.
For some of the Star Wars mounts, I used clear plexi, black plexi, brushed aluminum, or some combination thereof. I think the mount for Chewie’s Bowcaster turned out nicely – a simple little mount that fades elegantly into the background.

When the travelling Star Wars exhibit was being constructed at the MoS in Boston, I was able to pitch in and help out by making a few of the mounts. Here are a couple of pictures I managed to find on the net.
