
Sketch - The design Brief required me to design and make a pair of mules based on a Broadway show.
I was inspired by 1776 the musical and the need for a pair of casual flats. I wanted them to fit over the cuffs of my pants in a unique way and match my informal style.
They are a bit of a combination of french 1700s fashion and Native American headdresses with a colonial feel.

Finished - This is the final product sans medallion. The leather frill covers the edge of my jeans nicely.

Finished - These are the finished shoes with the medallion. The red centers are meant to look like wax seals. This detail gives the shoes a more literary feel and are more appropriate than a cabochon or a ribbon.
