Experience MARS PETCARE - CPG - Sr. Industrial Designer - Product & Packaging Innovation 2010 – Present - Conducted consumer research with Sensory Scientists, Marketing, Food Scientists, Process Engineers, & Veterinarians - Utilize my design training and experience to evangelize the importance of design as a strategic business tool - Provide Design and Engineering support for: Packaging & Product R&D, Commercial, Marketing, Engineering, & Sales - Performed competitive audits at store level, online, and also utilized external resources to perform a global research - Outlined, initiated, and implemented a process to reduce a key process from 10 business days to 20 minutes - Leverage vendor’s strengths to fill gaps in our process and capabilities while building strong partnerships - Manage 3 prototyping machines - Objet Connex 500, Z-Corp Z-510, and Dimensions Elite AMD Industries - BTB - Senior Industrial Designer - P.O.P. Design 2009 - Designed Permanent P.O.P. displays using traditional hand sketching methods as well as CAD tools. - Reviewed and refined fellow designer’s concepts, evaluated quality of design concepts based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. - Coordinated with sales, engineering, and our prototyping model shop in the creation of physical concepts. Design 2007 – 2008 - Developed and implemented the global identity and brand language for P.O.S. displays for the Americas, Asia, and Eastern Europe. - Co-managed Chinese and Israeli vendors in the production of prototypes in lead up to production level samples. - Integrated 3D Modeling and rendering tools reducing development time by more than 70% PACTIV | HEFTY - CPG - Industrial Designer II - Research & Development 2004 – 2006 - Conducted ethnographic and observational research. - Developed and evaluated new product offerings based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, target price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications. - Analyzed data to discover new/emerging trends, Analyzed competitors offerings. - Integrated discoveries into sketch concepts product solutions for internal (HEFTY) and external clients (McDonalds, Noodles and Co, Panda Express, Sara Lee, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut). - Designed and engineered highly detailed 3D models using Catia. - Hand built prototypes, prepared and finished prototypes made of SLA and FDM materials. - Traveled to manufacturing facilities to run production samples, work on cost reduction measures, and document production quality of product samples.
