I'm that crazy sketch artist, rain loving, bone collector, coffee and scotch connoisseur who you'll see sporting crazy stockings whilst cycling around wrecking havoc on the streets of seattle. Ariel is my name, though my friends call me Earl. I've lived in Seattle for 4 years after moving from my hometown Helena Montana. I moved out to the coast to pursue a degree in Industrial Design. Why Industrial design? Well, knowing myself I knew that I needed a job where my mind would be constantly challenged. My brain needs stimulation of both the right and left areas. I needed something that allowed me to continually express and enhance myself both artistically and structurally. Industrial design seemed to be the perfect match for this need. Through my design experience I have learned to view problems not as "problems" but as opportunities for creative growth. Each challenge I am faced with I take as an opportunity to apply what i have learned and to gain new knowledge for me to apply to future challenges. Though any area of ID would interest me in some way, I find that I tend to be more inclined towards designing products that encourage people to be more active in their everyday lives. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than working to make being exposed to nature and a healthier lifestyle easier for the everyday joe. I truly believe that empowering people to live healthier lifestyles will in turn make for a healthier and happier world. Illustration is another area of interest for me. Although i was never formally trained as an artist I do enjoy nothing more than using art and illustration as my medium to express myself. I constantly strive to pursue this area of study on my own by creating artwork and showing my art in local shows and galleries. Although I am currently employed, I am current;y seeking new and challenging opportunities where I can collaborate with like minded individuals. Specifically in soft goods and outdoor products. This being said feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my work. To see more of my work please visit my portfolio website: http://arielwickham9.wix.com/awe9 . \m/ -Ariel
