As far as I can tell, the point of life is to make the journey enjoyable as possible for yourself and for others. The role of design is to help make that achievable. Success in business is everyone's goal. I want it as well, but through artful and responsible means.
As senior designer, Brian takes product ideas from cocktail napkin sketches to photorealistic computer renderings to production-ready prototypes for clients in a wide array of industries. Regularly conducts market, ergonomic, and human factors reseach to aid in the product development process. Leads in the development of brand identities, product design languages, and finished products for clients through the use of sketches, CAD modeling, photorealistic rendering, physical models, hands on testing and rapid prototyping. Directs and contributes to regular face-to-face and online meetings with clients to determine particular needs and constraints, collaboratively create solutions, and present product designs.
Worked with ownership on strategic planning, overall concept development, and communications strategy. Created a comprehensive brand identity with design guidelines for all marketing and brand communications. Aided first unit interior design and floorplanning. Marketing execution from inception to launch day for signage, menus, clothing, packaging, print and email marketing, and social media.
Managed design group goals and directives. Led meetings between product line managers, the sales team, and the design team to initiate new projects for national cell-phone carriers, retailers, and distributors. Developed accessories under highly restrictive time lines. Conducted market and user driven research. Developed concept sketches, physical models, renderings and CAD models in Solidworks. Worked with overseas partners to refine product designs and see them through production.
Created three concept directions for new lines of bathroom fixtures and accessories aimed at revitalizing the brand for newer styles of architecture and home decor. Conducted research with a focus on a "deconstructivist" style. Delivered concepts covering a spectrum of styles and functionalities.
Provided guidance for fellow students on the use of tools, processes, fit, function, and aesthetics.
