Sound Diplomacy is the leading global advisor on music cities, music tech and market development. Working as an intern for Sound Diplomacy gave me an opportunity to dive into the market development and policy making aspects of the music industry that I had no knowledge of before. This company has partnered with some of the leading names in the music industry to advocate for musicians and venues and the role they play in future city planning. I helped develop a major UK music industry primer for Canadian Music Week that covered every aspect of the music industry from record labels, music festivals and venues to publishers, booking agents and popular cities to tour. This primer will act as a guide for any Canadian touring act that wants to bring a tour to the UK. I helped plan and develop the second installment of Music Cities Convention which took place in Washington D.C. in October of 2015. Through Sound Diplomacy, I was exposed to some of the most interesting aspects of the music industry that I never even knew existed and I was able to meet a number of inspiring and hard-working individuals to top it all off.
