I am a dedicated, organised and ambitious second year Product Design (BA Hons) student studying at Bournemouth University. I am looking for a salaried internship or placement during 2013 – 2014 within the design industry where I can gain relevant skills, knowledge and experience. I am very interested in technological advances and sustainability in design and hope that I could find a placement where this is also a big part of their design goal.

Kent Art and Design Architects. While working here I learnt a lot about the AutoCAD program but also I learnt a lot about a design working environment and how getting settled in fast and not being afraid to explore your ideas is a good way to progress fast.
Bett’s Building Services. This was a lot more of a hands on approach and I learnt a lot about the other side of design when it comes to making/ building what is on the plans. From this I now make plans a lot clearer and simpler for both myself and others to understand.
P & B Contracts where I was able to see and experience work in the communication field.
Longview Farm Small Holding where I was dealing with deliveries, orders and looking after the animals and paying livery tenants. I also carried out general maintenance tasks such as, erecting fences laying drainage ducts etc…
I am a member of Bournemouth University Rowing team, which takes a lot of dedication and especially time and organisation. Training is 6 days a week including 6 o’clock starts on the weekends. This has required me to be organised with my work and time to fit training in around university. But also being part of the Rowing team shows good teamwork. I spend every training session with the same 8 boys and we all have to be punctual and have our heads in gear to get the training complete.
I am also one of the Founding 6 of the Bournemouth University Cycling Club, for this I was selected as the kit and logo designer. This gave me a free reign on designing and was something I was very proud to be a part of.
Recently a group of us have undertaken a Project called Enigma Talks, which is used to help students gain face to face experience with potential businesses. Together we set up and organise talks for students, with Lecturers, business representatives and Entrepreneurs from different course fields coming to the university to talk to students about what they can do to improve their work and employability.
Finally I recently set up a team British record attempt charity row for ‘Macmillan Cancer Support’ and Bournemouth University Boat Club. The attempt saw 32 members of The Boat Club Row 30 minute slots for 48 hours continuously. Overall we raised £2,500 for both the club and Macmillan and got a lot of publicity including the University Radio station and newspaper and also the local Bournemouth Newspaper.
Other Charity events that I have been involved in include completing the London Triathlon for ‘Demelza House Hospice Charitable Organisation’ and completing the Palace to Palace Bike ride for ‘The Princes Trust’.
