Here is documentation of the early stages of development for a corduroy jacket that was designed to feel like a sweatshirt. I used shirting weight cotton corduroy, and lined it with 80% cotton/ 20% poly 160g brushed jersey, and used the clients original Siouxie concert Tee in the lining. Designed to fit like a jean jacket it has hunting and military jacket details for added style. I manipulated the graphic Tee so I could keep its original graphic fully visible but make it something very new. This was the inspiration for the sweatshirt feel of the garment but the client specifically wanted a jacket he could wear most anywhere, any day of the week. This is why I combined the jean jacket exterior with the sweatshirt interior. The pocket bags are a lofty pile softer and warmer than than a sweatshirt. The logo label doubles as a hanger loop. The fabrics, fit, and design achieve mobility, warmth, and comfort like a sweatshirt. The client wears it every day!
