Senior Website Designer
Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace Relations
Mar 2011 - Present (13 years 2 months)
I hold the position of Senior Web Designer in Website Development at DEEWR. Web design projects produced include: Freedom of Information [http://foi.deewr.gov.au/], Young Worker Toolkit [http://youngworkertoolkit.youth.gov.au/], Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency [http://www.teqsa.gov.au/], the Ministers’ Media Centre [http://www.ministers.deewr.gov.au/] and most recently, National Youth Week 2014 [http://www.youthweek.com/] and the Y20 Summit Australia website [http://y20australia.com/].
Achievements:
• For Ministers’ Media Centre I designed a unique, user-centered interface for the filtering and separation of content, which allows changes to the page content without having to reload the entire page. Filter system allows users to sort releases by type and by sector, and updates the list of releases instantaneously. It also allows users to show 24 more releases at a time, rather than having to visit the next page.
• For Young Worker Toolkit my knowledge of design integration with open source development allowed me to successfully deliver a visually creative project solution utilizing Drupal features and functionality for delivery on mobile devices, tablets and desktops. Strong use of imagery and colour created connection to target audience independent of their device/browser.
• Received McFarlane Finalist Awarded at Web Directions South 2011 web design & development conference In Melbourne for Young Worker Toolkit.
