Hailing from a small town called Bongaigaon in Western Assam, Bhaskarjyoti Das is a current post-graduate student in Industrial Design (Product Design) at National Institute of Design Ahmedabad. He did his B.Tech (Honors) in Chemical Engineering from IIT Gandhinagar.
With a deep interest in creating scientific and frugal products since his early childhood, he took up industrial design to take his interest further. Being an engineer adds to the approach he intends to design his products.
Bhaskarjyoti Das is also one of the new generation photographers who classify their work as Art Photography. His photography comprises of fashion, music, photo-journalism, heritage and performing-arts. He is also a contributor to several fashion, art and youth magazines and is currently working on his photobooks on various social issues. One of his prime reasons of taking up photography is to preserve and exhibit the endangered culture and traditional heritage of India and its numerous tribes which are almost never known to the masses.
Apart from his designing, engineering and photography, he's also a percussionist and plays all kinds of Indian and western drums. He is also a Visharad in Hindustani Instrumental Music from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith Lucknow.
