Brian P. Keyes
Brian's designs are focused on high craftsmanship, honest materials, and elegant forms. He is proud to call Rochester, NY home and spends his time working at a small design consultancy, freelancing, and climbing tall mountains. Brian's passion lies in designing housewares and furniture that make spaces more livable and encourage hosting friends and family. You can typically find Brian riding his bike around the city, sketching in a park, or cooking seafood and drinking IPAs in the kitchen.
Design for and co-run a collective of independent designers creating unique and enduring products. Join like-minded designers together to pool resources, share knowledge, and create amazing objects. The collective helps fund new products to gauge market interest.
Design and teach a course in Solidworks for first time users of CAD in the RIT Industrial Design program. Provide hands on learning for modeling, drawing, and rendering in the latest releases of Solidworks. Manage and grade coursework and final presentations.
Freelance product design and visualization for clients. Services include 3D animation, video editing, CAD packages, design refinement, rendering, and illustration.
Work both as a team and individual on consultant product design for various clients. Specialties range from medical devices to consumer electronics to toy design. Manage and run client meetings. Assist in a model shop, building prototypes and manufacturing small production runs. Build and maintain the company website including photography of projects and write-ups.
Manage the visual identity, press releases, publicity events, and publishing of the RIT Ambulance corps on and off campus.
Supervise computer labs of 30+ users and assist in various tasks.
