Work History

Goals: An opportunity to use my energy, talent, and problem solving ability to bring successful, innovative designs to life. To create the vision of what a product can achieve and exploit that potential to the smallest detail. Experience: Owner: C Davis Designs, San Jose, CA, 2010 – Present Freelance product and graphic designer including logo design, print materials, and websites. Clients include: GKDI - Yamaha Motor Company, Long Beach, CA Thync Inc., Los Gatos, CA Whipsaw, Inc., San Jose, CA Senior Graphic Designer: Stanford University, Stanford CA: 2016 – 2017 Design report layouts and engaging animations to explain complex education research. Oversee interns for report graphic production. Senior Product Designer: Fox Head Inc., Morgan Hill, CA: 2005 – 2010 Designed protective equipment and performance apparel in off-road and street categories for the Shift Racing division. Designed the most commercially successful and high-profile products produced for the brand, from helmets to boots and everything in between. Worked within a small design team of experienced designers and mentored junior designers to improve their craft and proficiency. Worked directly with the brand manager, product manager, and product developers to meet or exceed business objectives. Product Developer: Fox Head Inc., Morgan Hill, CA: 2003 – 2005 Developed Shift MX gloves, armor, and footwear. Helped launch first ever street line including development of jackets and gloves. Negotiated with vendors to meet or exceed product quality, timing, and cost goals while working with designers to maintain design intent. Product Designer: Letica Corporation, Rochester, MI: 1998 – 2002 Responsible for all new plastic and paper container product designs of one-quart to seven-gallon capacities, for industrial and consumer applications. Invented and implemented a patented sealing solution that drastically improved performance at reduced cost. Product Designer: Arca Systems, Tacoma, WA: 1996 – 1998 Responsible for the development of products focusing on efficient totes for agricultural and automotive markets. Part of design team creating a high-end produce tote distributed by the largest container management pool. Education: B.S.
