Following the end of my third year I sought experience in a design related role to enhance my real world experience. I found experience aiding a local architect drawing floor plans, elevations and creating documents to hand to planning officers. Projects I worked on include a boating clubhouse and retail stores in a tourist attraction.
- Aided in technical drawings and site plans for live projects at an architectural office.
- Involved in the presentation of proposals to clients and assembling documents used at town planning meetings showing an ability to produce work to a professional standard and meet strict deadlines.
- Worked as part of a small team, reporting to a senior architect in a professional manner.
- Time showed an ability to work in a new environment effectively within a small period of time.

Product Designer - Student Collaboration

I worked with SLAM Design to contribute to their 2014-15 range. Slam design Ltd currently both design and distribute novelty products to the retail market. Ideas are expressed through hand sketching, CAD using Rhino 5, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and possible animation.
- Regular interaction with clients showing an ability to present detailed concepts that meet retail trends.
- Considerable research into consumer buying behaviour and competitor analysis resulting in work suitable for the real world market.
- Liaised with manufacturers to organise potential production.
- Demonstrated an ability to use a wide variety of CAD software to produce 3D printable models and professional artwork for products.
- Developed packaging illustrations and point of sale graphics to produce effective designs that demonstrate the product. Concepts illustrated an understanding of composition and layout.

Squared Rose, a part of Fizzco, cater for the high quality Christmas decoration market. I designed tree baubles for Squared Rose taking initial concepts through to final models and also suggesting packaging and marketing the business could use to promote the decoration.
- Utilised hand sketches and 3D modelling software to represent the product visually throughout the process.
- Liaised with the client regularly showing an ability to present products professionally that meet retail trends.
- Conducted extensive research into the buying trends of the target market and used persona information to make informed design decisions.
- Developed bespoke packaging to accompany the product creating a sense of 'a reveal'.
- Packaging was prototyped and suitable manufacturers were sourced requiring effective communication with third parties.

This short project which involved designing graphics for a business card to be used by a small, home run cake business in Brigg, Lincolnshire. The manageress of the business approached myself as a freelance designer to visually interpret the values of her business. The project was completed using Adobe Creative Suite and involved presenting around 15 worked ideas to the client, one of which now features on the card used at wedding fairs and other trade events.
