I am currently employed as Senior Designer at Kimberly Clark Corporation in Roswell, GA. It's not just about working with your hands, whether it be sketching, rendering, or prototyping - it's also about thinking functionally as realistically as well. For me, ID isn't all about designing a pretty product, but also making it functional and understandable.
As part of Kimberly-Clark Professional, I work as a design resource for all KCP and shared brands. I provide design support for various stages of the product development process, which includes research, concept ideation, concept visualization, 3D CAD and rendering, all the way to manufacturing support. I strive to push the company into a more design-oriented mindframe, which involves heavy amounts of collaboration and cross-functional interaction in order to deliver on the power of our brands and differentiate ourselves in a saturated market.
At The Metcalfe Group, a full-service design consultancy, we provide expertise in a number of different fields including various forms of research, product design, engineering, prototyping, product testing, and a lot more. I have worked with various clients ranging from independent inventors to large brands such as Gojo, Vendor's Exchange, Jergens, and Purell to name a few. Throughout the course of my employment, I have been responsible for ID sketching and rendering, Solidworks modelling and part design, prototype CAD and finishing, professional photography, and graphic design.
Internship experience working in a variety of different departments to increase exposure and understanding of the company. I worked on the initial design development phase for the Kitchaid built-in refrigerator interior, as well as an independent project in the washer category.
