Employment Related Skills and Experience

Worked as part of a team in my retail and food preparation jobs, whilst relied upon to keep to deadlines and communicate helpfully with customers.

Working and living in another country showed me a variety in culture, from their lifestyles to the architectural and design differences.


PERSONAL SKILLS

Time Management
Always met deadlines with high quality work and presented to the best of my abilities. Also managed to develop my artistic and design skills, whilst leading a good social life, without any difficulties.

Student Representative
I am the student representative for my course, which entails addressing any problems my fellow students may have to the course leaders, for which meetings are held every other month.

Effective Communication
Have presented work to groups, consisting of students, lecturers and company managers ranging between 5 and 30, explaining my ideas and answering questions. Also have developed good communication through contact with customers whilst working in retail.

Artistic
I am a keen concept and life drawing artist, which I partake as a hobby using pencil and a wacom tablet to produce 2D imagery.

Responsible
Whilst working at the nursery in Japan I was responsible for the children’s wellbeing and safety. Also when working in retail I was solely required to run the shop until closing time and was responsible for the daily takings.

Cultural
I have a strong interested in other countries, especially Japan, which has influenced my design skills and future ambitions.

Computing Skills
Good computing and rendering skills, to produce stylish and attractive 2D and 3D models.

3D Software: Solid Works, 3D Studio Max (using both mental ray and Vray), Maya, Zbrush.
2D Software: Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Illustrator
Additional Software: Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premier, After Effects

Model making
Confident use of workshop tools and machinery to produce good quality scale models.

Conceptual
I can create a range of interesting and unique concept ideas and then perfect them into a final design in a short period of time.

Artistic Skills
Wide knowledge of artistic materials to produce an array of concept designs and final imagery
