Industrial Designer
Sydney, Australia
Feb 2019 - Present (5 years 3 months)
Currently I am working at 1st Class Metals, an industry leading manufacturing company based in Sydney.
My role includes all aspects of product design, form the inception of an idea via consultation with clients; all the way through to programming of machinery and the design of tooling specific to their needs. This allows me to manage all aspects of my designs ensuring quality standards are met and customers are satisfied with the outcome.
Some key accomplishments so far are:
- The design of adjustable audiovisual lecterns used by The University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Wollongong and The Australian National University. Each university has it's own unique needs and visual styles which has meant I have had to create a complex modular product line which is continually evolving.
- Working with Echo Fix, an innovative Australian tape echo specialist. Echo Fix and I have been able to update their existing product, the EF-X2, and create new and innovative tape echo and spring reverb machines. The EF-X2 is used by many well known artists and bands such Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Neil Finn of the bands Fleetwood Mac and Crowded House.

My first design role was at a Sydney based industrial design consultancy Create it Digital, specialising in digital and interactive products. I worked here part time during my studies and full time once I graduated.
My role included conceptualising, designing, prototyping and producing a wide variety of products. These products included wayfinders, digital displays, interactive kiosks and parapet signage.
Some of my key accomplishments were:
- Designing the Cardiac Responder ZAPSTAND, the ZAPSTAND is a highly visible weatherproof enclosure which houses Cardiac Responder's patented defibrillator monitoring system.
- The design and install of digital parapet signage at the SCG. CID was responsible for the installation of almost 1km of digital signage across the entire stadium. My roles included the design of a mounting system which could be adapted on the fly allowing for seamless transitions between each display; managing the assembly of these displays; the design of custom jigs and tools used for installation.
