DESIGN EXPERIENCE ---------- INDEPENDENT WORK Detroit, MI and Chicago, IL Contract 05.2001 – present ——— Create social stationery and paper goods, including custom-designed wedding identities — save the date cards, formal invitations, name cards, programs, menus and favors. Teamed with Hennessy Design Group to design the JDRF Illinois 30th Annual Chance of a Lifetime Gala Invitation, editorial pages in the American Marketing Association’s bimonthly magazine "Marketing News" and Swedish Covenant Hospital's "Well" magazine, as well as to carry out file-preparation and pre-press for the Frances Xavier Warde School’s 20th anniversary celebration graphics. Created exhibit signage for all Enesco brands for the Summer 2009 Showcases. Executed file-preparation and pre-press for Enesco June 2009 catalogs, packaging, signage and hang tags. Partnered with Down Peninsula Audio to conceptualize and design CD packaging and merchandise for the bands Inside Five Minutes and Paradise. Created Microsoft Word templates for internal and external office use at architectural firm, Raymond O’Leary. GYRO CREATIVE Detroit, MI Graphic Designer 09.2006 – 09.2008 ——— Developed and maintained the brand identity in print and web for the U.S. and Canadian launches of the clek™ olli™, ozzi™ and oobr™ booster seats: Designed the retail packaging for the three booster seats and the clekjackets™; art directed all product and media photographs; collaborated with director and editor to art direct the oobr two-minute video; teamed with web programmer to design the company and retail website www.magnaclek.com and blog www.clekbuzz.com; art directed and named the olli booster seat fabric colors and patterns; developed sales and marketing materials for clek including the 40-page olli book, the product catalog, the 2008 media kit, order forms, correspondence cards and stickers; worked with the Windsor Translation Bureau to obtain Canadian French and Latin American Spanish translations for all clek pieces. Additionally, designed the 40-page gallery book "Spirits, Relics and Rituals: The John F. Korachis Collection of African Art" to accompany the traveling show by the same name. Created promotional materials for the Detroit Artist Market and Paul Kotula Projects. Assigned illustration and photo work. Researched stock images. HOUR MEDIA Royal Oak, MI Designer 06.2004 – 06.2006 ——— Art directed and designed editorial pages in "Hour Detroit" magazine, a regional city magazine (minimum monthly cirulation of 45,000): teamed with editorial staff to create seamless flow of ideas and visual execution; assigned illustration and photo work to freelance artists; researched stock images and existing art; worked with editors on text-fitting and photo edits; worked with production staff to correct color artwork. Additionally, conceptualized and designed various marketing materials to promote Hour Media (e.g., holiday cards; van wraps; "Hour Detroit" web site: www.hourdetroit.com). Designed the 156-page hardcover book "The Way It Was" for Hour Media’s Momentum Books; the initial printing of "The Way It Was" sold out in the first month. Associate Art Director 03.2004 – 05.2005 ——— Art directed and designed editorial pages in "Metro Detroit Bride" magazine, a regional bi-annual bridal magazine (circulation 40,000). COLLEGE FOR CREATIVE STUDIES Detroit, MI Contract 07.2002 – 11.2003 ——— Illustrated and designed the invitations and promotional materials for the 22nd Annual Detroit International Wine Auction, the college’s largest annual fundraiser. Created the self-mailing posters and brochures for the annual Art at the Center program. Designed the brochure and oversized postcard promoting the new Interior Design program. Developed special event postcards. VISUAL IMAGE EXCHANGE Detroit, MI Communication Designer 08.2001 – 01.2002 ——— Designed the save the date card and five-piece invitation for the Detroit Public Library’s holiday party. Developed the signage system and marketing materials for the Genesee District Library. Managed and expanded upon the print identity for the studio. CLEVELAND CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ART Cleveland, OH Contract 05.2001 ——— Created "Threads of Vision: Towards a New Feminine Poetics", the 64-page gallery book which documented the pieces and artist interviews for the show with the same title. Vinyl graphics of the book’s typography were displayed throughout the gallery during the show. DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION Auburn Hills, MI Graphic Design Intern 07.2000-07.2001 ——— Conceptualized and designed the communication pieces for the 2001 Concours d’Elegance. Teamed with in-house designers to apply/manage corporate identity standards post Daimler-Benz and Chrysler Corporation merger. Co-designed in-house specialty display on car badging. Created departmental communication pieces.
