Congratulations! I do love the rear fenders and how you closed the cab. It seems to be formerly designed for this wheeled version instead of the crawler ones (MT700 and MT800).

It was a shame not to see this design under the McCormick MTX. Unlucky brand...

Hi Douglas. I've been a long time admirer of this particular range of New Holland tractors, the vertical light stacking was a really original detail & gave the range a unique product differentiation. Seeing that you've got a history of CAT & CASE design too says you've got this stuff in your blood. Great work... Gary Major.

Hood, grille, light system, roof and fender surfaces are all pure inspiration to anyone working in Off-highway. It's so cool to see new images of this work in the group image pool - thank you so much for posting it. Fantastic work, Doug.

Now THAT's what I call a tractor!! Park this next to a Gallardo Spyder and ask the respective owners who is actually The Daddy... Chances are, they'll agree that the Magnum takes it - everytime!

Doug, Magnum really is everything a good tractor should be. The form itself is so simple and pure - and creates a very distinctive silhouette. Ther black wheel centres realy finish it off perfectly. Proper big boys toys! Thank you for being.

Awesome tractor. I've always liked the Challenger series, right back to the earliest tracked variants, but this model is easliy the most impressive in the line-up. It's great to see big, heavy duty, 'working machines' with as much of a jaw - dropping first impression as this. Great detailing too. It must have been a blast to work on - fantastic job Doug.

Thanks for the nice comments gentlemen. I can't take that much credit for this machine. I designed the fenders and did some detailing on the cab body panels. My nephew Rob did the bulk of the cab panel modeling work. The hood design of the Challenger series was designed years ago by Russ Strong. These big 4WD machines are a commanding presence aren't they? Even more so in person! Fun stuff.

Absolutely fantastic form study, superbly detailed and beautifully rendered. The body of work you did for NH completely re-defined their form language and inspired a whole bunch of Industrial Designers to try harder.

This was always a genesis product for me, it made me realise just how cool ag machines could look. A winner from the start Doug.

The design was originally intended to have two integrated, composite light housings, a la New Holland, in the front but in development was cost reduced to the 6 discreet, individually mounted, off-the-shelf headlights. Still would have worked out pretty well though. Ultimately, the concept was not adopted by McCormick and they have a different design dubbed 'superman' I think.

Thanks Onur. That would be the same line as this hood. This was Class 3 compact version if memory serves. I think we collaborated with your group on a hood for JX series value product as well? Best wishes to you.
