I believe good design begins with an understanding of process and craftsmanship. To me, craftsmanship is simply not the ability to make a finished work look remarkable, but also the knowledge of the material with which one works. It is the pride one finds in each work they produce, as well as holding respect to those that have helped shape their career. Craftsmanship is what sets a person apart from the rest; a separation from normality to a display of individuality.
