As part of a general modernization effort, my team was tasked with creating a proof of concept for an iPad app. The use case for this POC was taking a payment via a check and using the native image capture functionality on the iPad to save the check payment information.
Because this was a POC, there was no resources or time alloted for user research. Assumptions based on previous user observations and personas had to be used to develop the interaction models. Using personas and specific user scenarios, I created a process flow following the assumed user mental models. I considered each microinteraction with the application from the perspective of this assumed user.
For this POC, I was free of any rigid style guide and free to experiment. Using some creativity and UI pattern research, I was able to provide fresh looks to some familiar UI elements.
