Dear Hiring Manager
Odds are you'll see a parade of job seekers. All very talented with abilities and skills that fit your requirements. So what makes me different from them. At thirty five years of age, I'm young enough to work for thirty five more, but old enough to know that working well with others is just as important as design skills. I've had the experience of running my own company, and I have a healthy respect for things like budgets, benchmarks, customer service, and corporate reputation. I understand that it doesn’t matter if the artwork is a masterpiece, if it is not done on time. I'm often ask why I worked two jobs at the same time. Its simply, I did it for the love Graphic Design and the need of insurance for my family. I'm not afraid of hard work or long hours. Managing my own business while working for others has given me the understanding of when to lead and when to follow. I'm not in it for personal glory. I hope as I've aged so comes wisdom. I've learned the power of listening, and I give client's and supervisor's opinion proper weight. I do not get hurt or try to exert myself when over ruled. I'm there for them not myself. I champion communication at all levels and have seen how it can overt problems ahead of time. After more then nine years working in retail, I know the value of communication. Every position ultimately boils down to helping people and solving problems. I'm tenacious in this regards, if there is no conventional means to do it, I'm very adept at creative thinking and will find a work around. Nothing is impossible, given time and money and the determination to arrive at the goal. Being happy is making others happy. That is what design is after all. Making people happy clients, readers, web surfers, and supervisors. I'm looking for a place, that I can share in the satisfaction of goals obtained. A place I can plug into and be part of something bigger then myself. Contributing to the whole, to achieve things greater then I could on my own.
