DESIGN STRENGTHS + Effective at visually communicating ideas and concepts + Strong leadership and project coordination skills + Excellent at prototyping models to communicate form + Great verbal communication and public speaking skills + Comprehensive knowledge of materials and soft-goods manufacturing process DESIGN EXPERIENCE The North Face - Product Design (Contract), November 2016 Worked on a contract job with the Alemda-based outdoor brand The North Face. I worked directly with the equipment design team to help create production art and CAD files for their Spring/Summer 2018 product line. High Sierra - Product Design, September 2011 - October 2016 Worked as a product designer for the Illinois-based backpack company High Sierra. It is my duty to research the market, sketch concepts, and communicate with our affiliate factories to bring finished products to market. A large part of the job is working with our sales and marketing team in order to find new opportunities while staying true to the High SIerra brand. Near the end of my time at High Sierra, I worked as the lead designer of their Lifestyle category. It was my duty to research the market, and discover opportunities for the brand. I created multiple collections that helped High Sierra appeal to a more mature, and aesthetically refined consumer. TAG - Product Design (Freelance), October 2012 - May 2013 Did freelance work for Chicago-based housewares company TAG. Work included researching the market for trends, sketching new concepts, and creating illustrator line art of finalized concepts. The work included several different products within the TAG product line. Studio 111 - Freelance Design, Summer 2011 Worked on a home-care children's product with the team at Studio 111. It was my duty to research and ideate a new container for a major label children's brand that would revitalize sales and help the company win back lost market share. Timbuk2 - Freelance Design, Summer 2011 Did illustration work for the San Francisco based bag makers. The goal was to show key feature sets of the bags through visual illustrations. The illustrations are displayed in company workbooks as well as the retail website for customer viewing. Timbuk2 - Internship, Spring 2011 Interned at San Francisco based bag company and worked on a multitude of projects. Duties included creating Illustrator line art of developed products, color blocking the product line, sketching ideas for future seasons, and working with materials and sourcing developers. Virtual Studios- Internship, Summer 2008 Worked with San Francisco based I.D. firm on a comprehensive project which dealt with issues such as storage, waste management, and recycling in living and work spaces. The end product and solutions were very effective in solving common storage problems. Cannot divulge too much information due to proprietary constraints.
