Education

My art education was at Bournemouth and Poole college of Art and Design, England where I originally studied graphic design, with an aim to doing the Animation module at a predetermined point during the course. I also studied lifedrawing and photography during the course.

I had always various roles in the studios I worked in as a freelancer, because of many varied skills where I may be called to do some animation, background layout design,colour design, storyboarding or creating special effects. I proved to many people that I am not restricted to working in one area, but could, because of my own personal interest in various fields, could successfully perform different projects to a high standard. For the first five or so years all work was done on paper using pencil /paint and a lightbox to create artwork for shooting under a camera. As technology improved and one could own suitable software and hardware I gradually converted my working methods to using computer technology and was an early adopter in the industry.
I also produce artwork illustrations for print. In particular images for children, as they find the characters,colours and details appealing to their eye.

The computer tools I use are Lightwave, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Flash and Aftereffects.
I find that these are all I need to feed a job through the workflow to complete to a high standard.

Interests

I like reading popular science, art galleries, collecting 16mm films and studying film technology, cycling and gardening.
