While working as an Art Director at SCAD's student newspaper District, I got tons of great hands-on experience that really propelled me ahead of my other colleagues. During this time, I redesigned District's logo and promotional items (the former design can be seen in the bottom right) including t-shirts and bumper stickers. I also designed several covers, whether by PhotoShop or something craftier (see dozens of glue-gunned conversation hearts for the Valentine's issue).
