The research phase of the project was centered on the analysis of active aging phenomenon, that's at the basis of self care for elderly people
Among the multiple issues presented by the scenario, the project focused on the problem of the fall.
Every phase of the project was based on an accurate user's needs analysis, which have been individuated and selected to obtain a graphic model to identify several user's types.
The project must be developed as a system including several elements coordinated to obtain an appropriate solution to the problem of the fall, techincally reliable and based on user's requirements.
The project feasibility has been verified through a prototype.
The result of the design process was a simple object integrated in the daily life of the user, resulting reliable but invisible.
The PCB has been designed on the base of the prototype's elements (developed whith Arduino).
A plastic shell encloses the system, giving to it a simple shape, integrated in the domestic ambient, being unobtrusive.
The system is powered by the mains through a micro USB connector B-type.
The color of the product can be easily changed according to the user's preferences.

The project has the aim to develop an integrated ambient system finalized to the Active Aging support.
The solution is based on the introduction inside the domestic environment of sensors able to control the security of elderly people, without interfering with the activity of daily living.
In this way the system will be able to offer protection without oppressing and stigmatizing the user, but helping him to improve his level of self-care.
To reach this result the technology must be passive and flexible, to respect the poor acceptance of the digital interaction presented by medium elderly people.
