I'm a freelance designer and illustrator with over 20 years of agency, corporate, social media and freelance experience. I specialize in Product Packaging, Identity and Illustration.
As a Director of Creative at CDK Global, I am responsible for ensuring consistent branding and creative strategy across all marketing channels, from product marketing and strategic communications to digital//UX, event marketing and executive presentation support. I provide creative expertise to internal stakeholders as well as support marketing programs across the business via user-centric design, digital marketing best practices, graphic design and creative data visualization. I enjoy mentoring and guiding talented creatives to reach their full potential, while still maintaining a hands-on role in design and illustration when needed.
Over the last year and a half, I've worked with our new CMO and a new Senior Director of Creative Services in building out the Creative Services department, growing the team beyond only myself to a team of two Creative Directors, 3 Senior Designers, a Designer/Production Artist, 2 Senior Copywriters and a Sr. Editor. I've personally worked with each designer to identify their areas of passion and excellence to encourage them and to help the team run smoothly.
As a creative leader managing teams in Seattle and Chicago, I've made it my personal mission to eradicate silos within our organization and unite all departments under a common brand, via frequent travel for personal presence, as well as the adoption of a common corporate style guide, presentation templates and resources used by the organization as a whole.
Within my team, I've spearheaded the adoption of Slack for communication, Agile Methodology bi-weekly standups to streamline project management, Dropbox for file sharing and have created a personal weekly newsletter to encourage my team, inform them of initiatives from leadership, and bridge the gaps of time and space in an effort to help us all work seamlessly together.
