My name is Ryan Carney and I have a huge interest in the design side of the games industry. From a young age I have always been fascinated by how games are made and the sheer amount of work and time that goes into them. This is probably why I am intending to pursue a career in the games industry, preferably on the development side of things. Currently I am a first year student in the University of Ulster (Magee Campus) studying 'Computer Games Development', and I am hoping that once I have completed this course I will have acquired many of the necessary and desirable skills needed to become a games developer.
At the moment I am still getting to grips with using 3D modelling software such as Maya and 3ds Max as I am just following online tutorial videos on how to make very basic models, but in time I hope that I will become more efficient with the software and will be able to produce much more advanced and complicated models. I have a fair amount of experience using the game engine 'Unity' to create very basic games and I also have quite a bit of experience using photo editing software such as 'Photoshop' and 'Adobe Illustrator'. I have experimented with game creation software such as 'GameSalad' and 'Stencyl' and have created very basic games with them.
