2008 Portfolio
REI Pitch Site - This site was designed specifically for a pitch to the outdoor retailer - REI (Recreation Equipment Inc.) for Young & Rubicam. The site ended up being a success as it got Y & R into the next round of the pitch. My role in this project was to bring all the assets together, create a navigation system, program interactivity, interact with the background animation (created using a video to vector technique popularized by Hillman Curtis), Q&A and launch the site.
Adidas Original Facebook - This site was the promotional "face" for adidas's facebook site. I worked on the adidas Films section - building animation and interactivity within Flash. This is a client of Carat Interactive, San Francisco.
Verizon Surround - I worked with the team at Questus SF on the Verizon Surround site as a Flash Developer. My role included working within the existing OOP AS 2.0 framework designed with the MVC, Observer, and Singleton patterns. The component I developed for the site communicated within this framework as well as integrated back-end data and web service video feeds into a dynamic flash-based interface called the "Customization bar".
Levi Goldman Sculpture - Levi Goldman is an emerging sculpture artist currently based in Santa Cruz. He is able to update all content on his site directly using a CMS I built designed specifically for artists (see outofboxsolutions.com). All content in the site is dynamically pulled in from a database using PHP/MySQL.
Monterrey Bay Aquarium - Banner series I created for a client of Buder, Engel, & Friends - the Monterrey Bay Aquarium . Included are two static banners which combine timeline, frame-by-frame, and scripted motion, and a third "rich" banner where a penguin will your follow your mouse around the screen even as it is not "over" the banner.
Yahoo! - This series of banner ads were built while working at Ogilvy Interactive SF. I worked in conjunction with the Art Director, Copy Writer, and Producer for these and other projects at Ogilvy.
Cadence: Drawing API Application - Developed while working at Young & Rubicam. This was a landing page on the cadence.com site which doubles as a mini-application. Users submitted their drawings to be displayed in the gallery. I did all Flash development on this project.
Big Sky Documentary Film Festival - This site was developed to promote the film festival in it's initial year and serve as an interface for film makers to submit their work. The site has since been updated in an effort to encourage more graphic artist participation in the event - but the original can viewed from my portfolio at http://www.brianmusick.com/festival/index.htm
Mr. Famous - This was another mockup for the film festival that was never used - but always a favorite of mine. I took this picture down the street from where I lived at the time and this guy came around the corner and said make me famous - so here goes.
pixelpixie.com - This is the current intro page for Pixel Pixie Photography (site currently under development).
Business Card graphic for BSCI - This was some photoshop work I did the Big Sky Conservation Institute. They wanted to express the convergence of art and technology in the image.
2004 Portfolio - This is my portfolio site highlighting all of my graphic work to date. The concept I was trying to express here is what I think new media design is all about - finding direction in the sea of chaos.
