Murakami Novel Posters
I've long been a fan of Haruki Murakami's work, so in order to do a little self-motivated illustration work, I thought it would be interesting to create posters for each of his novels (though not his most recent as, not yet being released in English, I haven't had the chance to read it). Each poster shows something important from that specific novel.
I wanted to create hand-drawn illustrations, simply using a mechanical pencil, and colour them using my Wacom in uncomplicated, desaturated colours. The project really helped me become comfortable rendering basic scenes in pencil, primarily using different pencil shading techniques (with just a little emphasis with colour) to give the pieces depth.
