The observatory was opend during the annual ceremony for the soldiers of the second Lebanon war on 12.7.2012. The metal shields bare the names of soldiers who lost their lives in the war and the shape of the platform is meant to point towards the direction of the places where this men and women fell.
The second stage of the project is to rehabilitae the intire site, that was damaged during the war. The commitee of the familys who had lost their deared ones in the war had obligated to rehabilitate the whole mountain peak, which serves as a natural reservation.

The observation shown is the first stage in rehabilitating the whole area, that was damaged during the second Lebanon war (7-8/2006). It was made volountarily, to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives during the war.
