Prototype - Over the past couple of months I have been working on a project to design a new Optical Turnstile. The requirements included having a slim sleek look while taking into consoderation the internal components that were going to be placed inside. Taking the design to the next level, the engineering team and I are assembling the unti for an upcoming tradeshow. I am very excited about how it is going.
Proto-type - Another view of the unit coming together. At this stage of assmebly, we are programming all the software so that the optical sensors and swinging barrier doors work properly. The mechanical engineer and I are making a few adjustments to the parts that came in, so that the electrical components fit and work perfectly.
Optical Lane Concept - Refinement of previous concepts
Bollards & Asset Protection Design - These are some of the designs worked on for "Alavarado", a company that is in the industry of Asset Protection and Public Queing.
Rail Concept - Rail guards used in the industry as barriers to protect on the floor assets.
Wall Mounted Bumpers

Metal Work - Was asked to design a corner guard using only stainless steel rods. This was the concept that was chosen over the others.

Feature Matrix - This document is designed to show the features/benefits of the security turnstile. Shown are the models and renderings of the product done in SolidWorks. The call outs are a combination of Photoshop and InDesign. I especially like the cutaway view.
Instruction Set - Instruction set for a sign holder created in Photoshop and laid out in InDesign
Optical Turnstile Concept - A concept for a product line that I am working on. Still working out the details for the electronics but thought it was an interesting concept
Concept 2 - Another concept for the optical turnstile that I am designing.
Internal Components - The engineering behind the skins.
SU5000 Infographic - In the process of making the design direction a reality. This is a document created to show human scale and brief instructions of how to use the optical turnstile.
Swing Gate Concept - System: An automatic gate used in the retail industry and corporate setting used to allow access to a given area. This would be done through a proximity sensor that would capture movement of an individual entering the area of activation. Early conceptualization of structural frame inside of the unit.

One of a series of concepts presented to AlvaradoMFG. The unit is designed to be installed on top of turnstiles leading into theme parks and other entertainment venues using a form of ticket validation. Main function is to scan tickets into system software for tracking and allowing turnstile to allow passage. Requirements: Maximum Width 4.5", Depth 6", Height 10".
