Increasing Cyclists Awareness of Motorists

This project, within the final year as a major project, started with secondary research into the perception of cycling, statistics on cycling related accidents and the reasons for crashes.
After undertaking primary research through online questionnaires and consumer interviews, the product need identified was that of one which must increase cyclists’ awareness of their surroundings whilst making them feel more secure and safe from their side of their bicycle.
From this, a Product Design Specification was created then followed initial ideas, concepts, concept selection, the development of concepts, concept scoring and a finalised idea.
This is currently an ongoing project in the design stages and will be taken forward to consider how it will be produced, materials, how it works, and developing it to market in the new year.
