Summer Camp Illustration - The characters and the campfire were done freehand with watercolors and pen and ink. The trees were done in Photoshop, and I put it all together in Photoshop. I wanted the characters done individually so we could place them throughout the section.

This was a story on toys for the holidays, so rather than just running product shots of the toys, I thought it would be cute to draw elves playing on the toys and put them together in Photoshop.
Spring Arts Preview - This was for our spring arts preview in our Accent section of the Arizona Daily Star. The theme was planting the seed of the arts. So I photographed seeds, and in Illustrator drew whimsical flowery things growing out of them. We wanted a fun/groovey style. The cover is a flower pot with the same type of thing growing out of it. I also did several smaller ones that were placed throughout the section.

Packing Lightly - This is an illustration about how to pack lightly enough to fit your luggage into the overhead bins on an airplane to avoid being charged to check your luggage.

Spring Arts - The idea was planting the seed of the arts. The cover was done by me and Renee Fullerton.
Walk This Way - Pastel illustration for a story about Zen walking or walking meditation. The gold/brown ring on the outside edge represents a walking path, and the green color field is nature.

Summer Activities Tab - This was a joint effort between myself and Renee Fullerton. We made a diorama with a boy hiking through the Tucson desert.
Green Weddings - An illustration for a story about having a "green" wedding. It was a team effort and combination illustration/photo. I drew the girl with color pencil and watercolor, scanned it in. Then my coworker helped me pin the lettuce dress on the girl. After we liked the dress, I photographed it, and put it together in Photoshop.
