Metro 01 is a striking 103-meter-tall commercial tower located in Kothrud, Pune, designed to stand out in the city’s growing skyline. I was responsible for the elevation development of this high-rise, ensuring that the façade reflects a sense of simplicity, elegance, and functional clarity.
The design carefully adheres to the UDCPR 2020 regulations, especially the critical Step Margin guidelines for tall structures. The massing and geometry were strategically worked out to comply with these urban design constraints while maintaining a vertical, modern aesthetic.
A unique challenge was addressed in the planning of the 2nd and 3rd-floor showrooms, which don’t have direct visibility from the main access road. To overcome this, I leveraged the project’s location directly adjacent to Pune’s first metro line, ensuring that these floors achieve visual prominence from passing metro trains, adding commercial value and dynamic visibility.
