ID Crisis - I have developed a research methodology based on life shadowing and the empirical model. These are all photos of me during my month spent as a boy, and two weeks spent as a "girly girl." I have used my research to develop various user-centered products, as well as to base a class called "Design with Gender in Mind." This project is a day planner designed with women in mind. Information is laid out in terms of webs and connections, instead of in a straight line. The user is encouraged to keep the planner as a journal and sketchbook and to develop empowering skills through out the month.
Shaman - Quick…the year is 2020. You have three weeks to design a real-world immersive game that can be played by 20 people simultaneously…HAVE FUN!
Flashlight for Girl Scouts - The assignment was simple...redesign a commodity item. Make it more cost effective to manufacture, while adding value. I chose the Eveready flashlight, and geared it towards Girl Scouts. I reduced the flashlight from 17 parts and 4 assembly steps too 4 parts and 2 assembly steps. I also provided the Girl Scout users and opportunity to understand how circuits work, and a luminary device for shadow puppets and camping trips.
Urban Baby - Stroller designed for parents in urban areas. The Urban Baby folds into a backpack and adjusts to be a temporary car seat to help simplify public transportation for new parents.
Multi Generational Housing - A three day group project geared towards improving life for the "sandwich generation."
