Seaside planting bed.
This lawn was the back parking lot which is now replaced with a parking garage on the other side of the building. This moves the non point source pollution away from the sea side of the building.
This is an existing photo of an overgrown tennis court. You can barely see the light house at the left center of the photo.
Once we removed the trees and tennis court we created a lawn for the hotel users and for wedding ceremonies with the lighthouse as a feature for the hotel.

Hyatt Regency Newport, RI

The Hyatt Regency of Newport, RI project was a total site renovation. Brown Sardina Inc was hired by Studio AD Architects of Providence, RI and Jim Heroux was the principal in charge. The Hyatt hired a Brad consultant to create a new vision for the hotel early in the conceptual design phase and the design team then created phased drawings for the hotel to follow for years to come.
As project manager I worked closely with VHB civil engineers to create CMRC compliant drawings. and a CD package of thirty four drawings. 2007-2009.
The overall concept was to make this Hyatt Hotel a high end resort quality destination for Newport tourists. To do this the design team completely changed the entrance to create an experience of nautical elegance. We used new materials, a fountain, stone veneers, walls, and plantings to accomplish the transformation.
