In 2008 designer Mark Bolick was relocated to Indonesia for three months to serve a client. During his journey he befriended a local craftsman. The artist was working with materials salvaged from a local bowling alley that was being torn down. Amid these materials, Bolick discovered steel rod from the ball return mechanism and began to imagine what it could become.
