Robot - This robot is controlled using Basic Stamps 2. There are LED's that emit light and photo transistors that register a change in light reflected so the robot could follow a dark path. There are also photo transistors on the sides to detect and light sources along the dark path. The robot would stop at the end of the path and display how many lights it encountered on either side of the track using a 7-segment display.

2009 Mechatronics Robot

This is a robot designed to follow a black-line on the ground.

I worked with a partner to brain storm designs, construct the bread board prototype, write code in Basic Stamps 2, and compete with out class-mates on fastest-time to traverse a path.

A differentiator for our robot was a start-up sequence that involved calibrating the light sensors. Our classroom had large windows which allowed in a lot of natural sunlight and depending on time of day or cloud cover, the light sensors could detect wide ranges of values.
