Looking into the potential areas that an warning or an attraction light can be used.
Project Tear Down:
This was something I found really useful to do. Having not really done this before, it was interesting to see how each component was pieced together. Through performing this product tear down I learnt that the designer has to consider all the internal workings. Also that they have to consider the sizes of the PCB's, batteries and other components when figuring out the size of their product.
Component list and other diagrams I drew as part of the product tear down.

I looked at light directions, to see which shape would allow a wider expansion of light to show the tent guide ropes.
Development ideas. I started playing around with shapes to see which would be best for lighting up tent guide ropes.

Final Design. I decided to use a cone shaped design on the bottom of my product. This shape allows the light to bounce off the conical shape to allow the light to shine up on the tent guide ropes.
I researched into different method of attaching this warning light to the tent guide rope. It was important that the light did not slide down the rope. If the light was too far down : it would be too low for people not to trip over the tent guide rope.
Presentation Board. I decided to name my product after a firefly. This was because firefly's are small insects that produce a bright light which is essentially what my designed product will do.
