Detroit Urban Design Studio 2:Urban Design Development

This project was to design a redevelopment plan for the downtown area in Oxford, Michigan. The idea behind the plan is to increase the commercial areas and public places within the greater downtown area while fixing key issues that plagued the city. The plan offers better public linkages, noise reduction, parking, and improved lighting for the area.

Oxford is approximately 40 miles north of Detroit; the village of Oxford is one square mile within the greater Oxford Township. The central business district lies along M-24, which is an important north-south corridor providing access to highways I-69 and I-75, linking Oxford to Detroit, Flint, and Port Huron.
