Danah Akin Mitchell

A Birthday present for a friend's 40th Birthday. The image was inspired by the 1980s (note the RAD graphics) and a particular card in the popular game Cards Against Humanity that reads, "David Bowie riding a tiger made of lighting." For both my friend and myself this is our ultimate trump card in the entire game as we both share an affinity for David Bowie, and especially for his memorable performance in the 1986 classic, Labyrinth.

Emzilla - Painted figure from picture reference. In the original picture she had her hair up in a pony tail, but for the painting I decided to paint all new hair. Her jewelry (earing and hemp necklace) were cut from the original picture and then the necklace's color was altered to fit the color scheme.

"Everywhere I go, I see Fraggles" was my submission for Fraggle Rock's 30th Anniversary contest. It was my interpretation of what lay outside of the Gorg's Kingdom. If you look closely, at the left hand side of the image, you can see Jr. Gorg walking a trail and the Gorg Castle tucked in a group of trees. All the pieces (including the scene) were painted in Photoshop.
