For this project, we were tasked with designing and building an interesting coffee table featuring intricate joinery and glass components. Our final design blends modern aesthetics with craftsmanship, creating a functional and visually engaging centerpiece.
The table structure is built using solid wood with carefully crafted joinery techniques, emphasizing precision and durability. The standout feature is the use of dowels that pass through the glass tabletop itself — a bold and innovative detail that seamlessly connects the glass to the wood. On top of the dowels, we placed a small floating wooden tray designed to hold items like books, remotes, or decorative objects. This tray adds a layer of functionality and visual interest without cluttering the main glass surface.
The angular frame provides stability and a dynamic, sculptural feel, making it not just a table, but a conversation piece that fits beautifully into modern living spaces.
