BRIEF: Use ethnographic techniques such as shadowing and participant observation to explore a librarians work in context, discover problems and open up relevant design opportunities.

METHODS: I generated an A5 visual diary in book format of ‘my day shadowing the life’ of a Librarian which contained all my key insights and observations. I used this, my field notes, cultural probe data and affinity mapping to analyse for relevant design opportunities.
