After several other iterations that were simply too awkward to manipulate with one hand or with gloves on, I decided to try using a pair of Web Dominators.
It’s a fairly simple premise, and yet it’s not. A tourniquet is something that needs to be accessed quickly, and when it is accessed, the user will almost certainly be injured and will likely have diminished fine motor skills.
But the corollary is it also needs to be securely attached. It doesn’t do a lot of good if the easy way to access it causes it to get lost.
A piece of red webbing serves as a pull tab and also to help distinguish it amongst a lot of camo and earth toned clothing and equipment.
Mounted here on an Emdom B.O.M.B. pouch.
I made some modifications to the stock pouch - sewing on PALS webbing along the bottom - in order for it to fit on the bottom. But if pouches aren’t mounted to the front, it could be mounted there, or on PALS webbing anywhere. Battle belt, plate carrier, aid bag, chest rig, etc.
I have a CAT Tourniquet in these photos, but it will work with any of the commonly available models.
It will also hold a variety of dressings.
Be it an H&H CinchTight...
...or an Emergency (or Israeli) Bandage.
I’m using a MaliceClip here, but it will work with a variety of MOLLE attachment methods.

Tourniquet Holder

The challenge I faced was devising an accessible carrier for a tourniquet, that would make it immediately available when needed, yet make sure it stayed put the other 99.9% of the time.
