Emerging Tech Files is a literal time capsule of Humanity's daily TRANSITION from a Type Zero to a Type One civilization.

The INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ENGINEERING profession is the most crucial field that aids in that transition. The more information available on advances in emerging technology, the better you will be at engineering intelligent design solutions.

The process is lifelong in identifying the daily breakthroughs that build into a corpus of current Information that influences a design engineer's ideation process.

The Files are compiled for industrial design and design engineering students engaging in the creative design process. You must have at least a cursory understanding of daily tech progression.

Established to identify precursors to future tech described in my science fiction, the collated articles quickly grew. There are approximately 250 pages of articles per volume, which is best read in reverse order.

Isaac Asimov’s famous Three Laws of Robotics — constraints on the behavior of androids and automatons meant to ensure the safety of humans — were also famously incomplete. The laws, which first appeared in his 1942 short story “Runaround” and again in classic works like I, Robot, sound airtight at first:

1.) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2.) A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3.) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. In "The Evitable Conflict" the machines generalize the First Law to mean: No machine may harm humanity; or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm. This was refined in the end of Foundation and Earth. A zeroth law was introduced, with the original three suitably rewritten as subordinate to it: 0.) A robot may not injure humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

ANDROID / ROBOTICS NEWS: Of course, hidden conflicts and loopholes abound (which was Asimov’s point). In our current age of advanced machine-learning software and autonomous robotics, defining and implementing an airtight set of ethics for artificial intelligence has become a pressing concern for organizations like the Machine Intelligence Research Institute and OpenAI.

The first was National Security Action Memorandum 271. “I have initiated a program for the orderly declassification of all UFO intelligence files affecting national security. I have instructed the CIA director to prepare a program for the sharing of this data with NASA where it can be put to use in the context of the space and lunar exploration program.”

The second memo was classified top secret. Kennedy sent it directly to the director of the CIA. “Furthermore, I have requested that the CIA develop a program of substantive cooperation with the Soviet Union in the field of outer space, including the development of specific technical proposals. I have asked that the CIA work closely with the Department of State and other agencies as appropriate in developing this program.”

ALLEN DULLES, and JAMES JESUS ANGLETON gave the order. To former CIA director Alan Dulles, whom Kennedy had fired after the Bay of Pigs disaster, this wasn't diplomacy. It was treason. Dulles had overseen the UFO cover-up since 1947. He'd investigated the Mory Island incident. He knew what technology the government had recovered from an alien craft.

Kennedy was demanding access to the biggest secret in human history, and he planned to share it with America's enemy. Ending the Cold War might be good for humanity, but it was bad for business. The defense industry was already furious with John F. Kennedy. He awarded the largest defense deal in history to General Dynamics. Everyone expected it to go to Boeing, the cornerstone of the military-industrial complex. But because of JFK, Boeing and its network of powerful allies had just lost a fortune. (1.) ELECTRO-GRAVITIC ANTIGRAVITY involves using voltages at millions of volts to temporarily disrupt most (89%) of the hold of Earth's gravitational field on an object, e.g. airplane such as the B-2 Stealth Bomber. This result may be called Partial Gravity Shielding.
