Proton Therapy Multileaf Collimator
The Roberts Proton Therapy Center will be the largest proton therapy center associated with an academic medical center in the world and one of only six such centers in the country.
My responsibility was to coordinate and develop the overall architecture of the system as well as provide 80% of the detailed component design, excluding the MLC leaf design. Varian Medical worked with the physicist and medical scientist at the university to design the leaf configurations that provide the profile sheilding of the proton beam.
